Mass Intentions
Per a decree from Archbishop Zinkula, the suggested offering/stipend for the celebration and application of a Mass for a specific intention is $10.00. Also, as a reminder, the archdiocese requests that we do not schedule any Masses or intentions for dates after Tuesday, June 30.
As of January 1, 2026, we will only honor one Mass Intention per scheduled Mass. An exception has been made for those who requested a duplicate date last year.
We have accepted more Masses than can be said by June 30; therefore, we cannot accept any more Mass Intention requests at this time.
The practice of offering Mass for an intention, especially for a deceased person, comes from the belief in the communion of the saints. Our prayers can help each other, even across the divide between life and death. One scriptural example of this is found in the book of Second Maccabees. "Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be freed from this sin." -2 Maccabees 12:46 The customary offering for a Mass intention is $5.
