We are lucky to be able to welcome him as he has lead retreats around the country including events at the National Catholic Youth Conference. The day will conclude with 5:30 Mass at Holy Trinity. Parents and sponsors are encouraged to attend Mass with their confirmation student that day. All students are expected to stay for the Mass, as it is part of the retreat. We will need some parent helpers that day. CONFIRMATION MASS: June 8, 2013 @ OLMC, Lawler 5:00 PM Confirmation Works of Faith Activities
A change in the confirmation program has opened an opportunity for all people in the cluster to participate in works of faith in your community. As Catholics, we are called to demonstrate our faith by serving those around us, especially those less fortunate than ourselves. Similar to last year, students are being given several organized opportunities to perform service in their immediate community and the expanded regional community. The Light of Christ office is currently working to put these projects together, but they include spending a day helping home bound cluster community members with spring cleaning activities that they could not perform themselves. Some of the other works of faith opportunities will include singing Christmas carols at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab center, working at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter in Waterloo, or attending Catholic Heart Workcamp, an exciting week long summer service camp. As the dates come closer, we will put announcements in the bulletin asking for everyone who is able to sign up and work with the confirmation students. This is a great chance for all of you to be involved in local service to your community. We will be asking people to sign up ahead of time for these service opportunities. So when you see the events advertised please consider joining us in these exciting endeavors.
